ISKGA COASTAL GUIDE – SEA SURVIVAL MODULE at the Scuola di Mare Santa Teresa. First in a classroom to analyze different ways on how to cope with sea survival after a capsize in open sea. Specific gear, clothing, procedures to survive and raise external help if possible at sea and land. Then a day at sea, to Palmaria Island, to practice in real world how to deal with all that.
Everybody swam in cool water after a wet exit (roll wasn’t allowed here), landed on a sheltered beach, built 2 different shelters, lit a fire, brought water to boil in a short time frame and changed out of their wet gear into thermal layers and drysuits and have something warm to eat and drink…
